DHL, the world's leading logistics company, announces that their Miami DHL Global Forwarding building, owned by DCT Industrial (NYSE: DCT), a leading industrial real estate company, has received LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Commercial Interiors Gold certification. Located in the City of Doral, in Miami-Dade County, this is the first DHL commercial LEED Gold certified building in the United States. The internationally recognized green building certification validates that the structure was designed and built using environmentally friendly features aimed at: improving performance in energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, stewardship of resources, and sensitivity to their impacts. The building has received certification in the Gold category based on the U.S. Green Building Council's Commercial Interiors v2009 point rating system.

DHL, the world’s leading logistics company, today announced that its DHL Express and DHL Global Forwarding operations in Nashville relocated to share a LEED certified, environmentally efficient facility at Ameriplex at Elm Hill. The move to the 31,000 square foot space, effective Monday, April 25, 2011, supports DHL’s GoGreen Program which includes a quantified target to improve its carbon efficiency by 2020.

DHL, the world's leading logistics company, announces Kraft Foods has named one of its employees, Heather Daugherty, as one of its Going the Extra Mile (G.E.M.) award recipients. Heather, who is based out of the Port Huron office in Michigan, received this award on March 23, 2011 in recognition for Supply Chain Partnership Excellence in 2010. DHL, the world's leading logistics company, announces its Global Forwarding division, in conjunction with Lumeta, Inc. and Daniel’s Electric, have just equipped Banning High School in Banning, California with PowerPly™, building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) solar modules. DHL Global Forwarding handled the ocean freight, U.S. customs clearance and the staging delivery of the 220 solar panels (88kW) that shipped from Shanghai, China to the school site. Lumeta’s PowerPly modules were then mounted on the roof of the newly constructed 35,000 square foot two-story classroom building within a span of three days by Daniel’s Electric.

The Partnership is an innovative collaboration between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the freight industry, designed to significantly reduce greenhouse gases and air pollution. With the SmartWay Transport Partnership, DHL Global Forwarding will now be able to calculate all of its subcontracted miles and performance efficiency, allowing us to measure the carbon foot-print associated with our ground freight activity. DHL Global Forwarding is the third business division of Deutsche Post DHL after Global Mail and Express that joins the EPA SmartWay Transport Partnership.

The company expects the San Juan station and several other North America stations to be added to their portfolio of QEP Accredited stations by the end of 2011.
