Issue 530, October 4, 2006
Due to the steady downturn in the price of crude oil, our carrier partners have notified us that they will decrease their fuel surcharge, in line with their published index notification system. As a result, DHL Global Forwarding is pleased to pass on this reduction in the Fuel Surcharge (FSC) to take effect on October 9, 2006.
The USA Fuel Surcharge will apply to all international and domestic shipments. The FSC on international air freight shipments from the USA will decrease from the current USD 0.60/kg to USD 0.55/kg, with no change to the minimum. On import shipments the charge will be the local currency equivalent and subject to specific governmental regulations.
For our Domestic Air Services, Next Flight Out, Next Day AM, Next Day, Second Day and Three Day Services, the FSC is decreasing to USD 0.26/lb from USD 0.28/lb, with the minimum remaining at USD 6.00.
The FSC for Domestic Surface or Roadmaster shipments will be reduced from minimum of USD 6.00 or USD 0.06/lb to USD 6.00 minimum or USD 0.055/lb.
For Canadian international and transborder shipments the Fuel Surcharge is decreasing from CAD 0.69/kg to CAD 0.63/kg with the minimum remaining at CAD 5.00. The decrease for the Canadian surcharge will be effective on October 16th, 2006.
