Air Freight Fuel Surcharge Increase

Issue 10, March 15, 2007

We regret to advise that the international oil market is placing continuing upward pressure on the price of Crude Oil, and its related derivatives. These most recent increases have caused the Fuel Price Index to move beyond its existing threshold. Consequently, DHL Global Forwarding is now receiving notification letters from our Airline Partners announcing they are increasing their Fuel Surcharges. The new increases will be effective March 26th, 2007.

For the USA the Fuel Surcharge (FSC) will apply to all international and domestic shipments. The FSC on International Air freight shipments from the USA will increase USD 0.05/kg to USD 0.50/kg, with no change to the minimum. On import shipments the charge will be the local currency equivalent and subject to specific governmental regulations.

For our Domestic Air Services, Next Flight Out, Next Day AM, Next Day, Second Day, and Three Day Services, the Fuel Surcharge is increasing from USD 0.22/lb to USD 0.24/lb, with the minimum remaining at USD 6.00. For Domestic Surface shipments the surcharge will change from USD 16% to USD 18% with the minimum remaining at USD 6.00.
For Canadian international shipments and Transborder exports the Fuel Surcharge will increase to CAD 0.57/kg with no change in the minimum.

If you require additional information or clarification, please contact your local DHL Global Forwarding representative. Your continued support and understanding regarding this situation is very much appreciated.

Sincerely,
