CP Rail - New Policy

Issue 1CA, February 11, 2009

This is a reminder that effective January 1st, 2009 CP Rail has introduced a new policy on weight restrictions for moving ocean containers.

All 20 ft marine containers will be limited to a maximum gross weight of 52,900 lbs., which includes container tare. As a result, effective Jan 1 2009, CP has canceled its Canadian & USNE overweight surcharge provision for loaded 20 ft containers.

This weight limit is in effect for any and all commodities loaded in 20 ft marine equipment moving between the ports of Vancouver, Montreal, New York / New Jersey, Philadelphia and Canadian points.

There is no change for 40’ weight limitations, they remain the same.

If you require additional information or clarification, please contact your local DHL Global Forwarding representative. Your continued support and understanding regarding this situation is very much appreciated.

Thank you.
