Issue 20, February 11, 2009
After several delays related to FMC regulation, and technical glitches with equipment, the Ports of Los Angeles & Long Beach have now scheduled Clean Truck Fee collection to start next week. We wish to advise you that the Clean Truck Fee (‘CTF’) of USD 35 per TEU will be collected as of February 18, 2009.
As a reminder, these are the criteria for application of the Clean Truck Fee:
DHL Global Forwarding is committed to ensuring our customers’ shipments are not adversely affected during the implementation of this Program. Therefore, in cases where DHL Global Forwarding is requested to pay the CTF on behalf of our customers, we will do so and charge an administrative fee of $10 per container for this service.
As our Asia groupage containers are also subject to CTF, we will apply a fee on a weight/measure (WM) basis to all Asia LCL:
$3.00/WM Export
$2.00/WM Import
If you require additional information or clarification, please contact your local DHL Global Forwarding representative. Your continued support and understanding regarding this situation is very much appreciated.
Sincerely,
Ben English
